LYNNE GIBSON

Lecturer in Art

Art is quite exceptional in its ability to make us think and feel through visual experience.

Art History equips us with aesthetic understanding, critical skills and a knowledge of historical and stylistic contexts. It helps us to see more.

On this site you will find information about my art gallery talks, lectures, study days and courses. Please join me and open your eyes to art.

Upcoming Events

2025 begins with the final three lectures of my Zoom Winter series. If you are interesting in joining us next Winter please email me for further details.

Also this Spring are the final two study days of the 'Gods and Heroes' course held in Thornbury, near Bristol. The next course will start in Autumn this year and run until Spring 2025. Keep an eye on my diary page for information.

Lectures for The Arts Society take me across the UK this year, from Preston to Penzance. Programme Secretaries can find details on The Arts Society website, but please contact me directly with any questions or requests.

This Summer, I am taking a break to visit the Italian side of the family. The trip will, of course, involve gorging on wonderful food, art, and architecture: a feast for the stomach, eyes and soul!
