Lecturer in Art

Art is quite exceptional in its ability to make us think and feel through visual experience.

Art History equips us with aesthetic understanding, critical skills and a knowledge of historical and stylistic contexts. It helps us to see more.

On this site you will find information about my art gallery talks, lectures, study days and courses. Please join me and open your eyes to art.

Upcoming Events

The past two years have seen a substantial move to online lectures during Covid restrictions. These have proved not only useful but, for many attendees, surprisingly enjoyable. I have, therefore, decided to continue my Monday lectures via Zoom.

This autumn there will be a repeat of the autumn 2020 lecture series, starting on Monday 3rd October. As before, there will be a mix of fascinating topics - something for everyone! If you are interested in joining, please follow this link Zoom Art History Lectures with Lynne  or contact me via the email address below.

The two autumn study days at The Chantry in Thornbury are planned to go ahead, Covid depending. Please follow this link  for a synopsis of the course.

Most Arts Societies and arts organisations have resumed hall lectures, although many have embraced a hybrid format. Hats off to them for their technical expertise! Please see my diary page for all art history lectures this autumn.
